46- Francasco Antonio Vigil Age 10 months and 23 days of Arroyo Hondo, NM. Died 12 May 1914 at 11:00 PM. Parents Benito Vigil and Refugio A. de Vigil.

47- Jose Ignacio Garcia Age 65 of Arroyo Seco, NM. Died 10 April 1914 at 10:00 PM. Survived by wife, adopted daughter, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. No names listed.

48- Alice Cisneros de Clouthier of Taos, NM. Died last saturday morning (16 May 1914). Wife of Alfonso Clouthier.

49- Juana Ramona Trujillo de Tafoya Age 60 years, 2 months and 3 days of Ortiz, Colo. Died 15 May 1914. She was born in Ranchos de Taos, NM 12 March 1834. Survived by husband Luciano Tafoya; Sons Ruperto, Tranqulino and Francisco Tafoya; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Names not listed.

50- Encarnacion Duran of Arroyo Seco, NM. Born in Arroyo Seco, NM 23 March 1833. Died 25 May 1914 2:00 AM. Survived by sons Nicolas, Apolonio and Fernando Duran.

51- Pedro Gonzales Age 95 of Arroyo Hondo, NM. Died 11 April 1914 at 5:00 PM. Survived by son Julio Gonzales.

52- Josefita Baca of San Francisco, Colo. Died 19 May 1914 at 9:40 PM. Survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters. names not listed.

53- Rafaelita Trujillo de Martinez of Des Moines, NM. Date of death not listed. Death notice dated 8 June 1914. Survived by Leocadio Martinez.

54- Genoveva Medina Age 25 died in Gallina, NM 22 May 1914. Resident of Wagon Mound, NM. Survived by husband Jose H. Vialpando, 2 daughters and 1 son.

55- Margarita Vargas Age 5 months of Ojo Caliente, NM. Died 18 May 1914. Daughter of Abelino Vargas and Flora Vargas.

56- Juan Francisco Griego Age 22 and his Brother-in-law Robert J. Maes died in Maes, NM. 20 June 1914 at 4:30 PM. They were killed by lighting. Griego is survived by parents Jose Maria Griego and Altagracia S. de Griego; Wife Marinita Maes and son Elisandro; 3 sisters and brother Manuel D. R. Griego. Surviving Robert J. Maes are his parents Luciano Maes and Veneranda S. de Maes.

57- Antonio Santsitevan Age 26 of Canon de Fernandez, NM. Died Wednesday 8 July 1914. Son of Celso Santistevan.

58- Timotea Dominguez Age 38 years and 5 months died in her brother-in-law C. B. Morphey's residence in Velarde, NM. 10 June 1914 at 10:30 AM. Survived by father Pedro A. Dominguez, 5 brothers and sister Eutimia Dominguez de Morphey.

59- Nina Vigil de Jaramillo Age 35 of Cerro, NM. Died 15 June 1914 at 6:00 AM. Born in Cerro, NM 11 March 1879. Survived by husband Name not listed; Daughters Ofrecina and Anita Jaramillo; Son Melaquias Jaramillo; Mother Isidorita Valencia and 2 brothers.60- Yesterday evening 16 July 1914, we received the tragic news that William Frazer had been shot and killed by John B. Bidwell in Twining, NM. They had been involved in a dispute for about 3 years as to who owned the mine. It was reported that William Frazer with gun in hand had tried to expel John B. Bidwell from a house near the mine. Bidwell retreated and armed himself with a 30-30 caliber Winchester rifle and shot William Franzer.

61- Antonio Vargas Age 51 of Ojo Caliente, NM was shot 5 time and killed by Juan de Dios Archuleta. Also shot and severely wounded was Maximiliano Rivera. The shooting took place in the Justice of The Peace court room of Judge Antonio Morens. He was to hear the case of Vicente Sena Vs. the brothers Juan de Dios Archuleta and Elias Archuleta. Antonio Vargas was Vicente Sena's lawyer. The Archuleta brothers escaped after the shooting and are at large. A reward of $ 500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the Archuletas. He is survived by wife Juanita Abeyta de Vargas, 3 daughters and 3 sons...Dionicio Vargas Father of Antonio Vargas has also been killed some 30 years ago near Ojo Caliente while serving as a state senator. Antonio Vargas was serving in the house of representatives.

62- Felix Archuleta of Ojo Caliente, NM Was found dead believed to have drowned in a flash flood 6 Aug 1914. He was the mail carrier between Vallecitos and Ojo Caliente, NM. He seemed to have been the victim of the flash flood following a heavy rain. He was found in El Canoncito de La Cueva in the middle of the river. The horse and mail bags have not been located.

63- Jesus Maria Romero Age 82 years, 4 months and 25 days of Ranchitos de Abajo, NM. Died 28 July 1914 11:00 AM. He died at his son Adolfo Romero's residence. Survived by sons Eutimio, Ruben and Adolfo Romero.

64- J. A. Sanchez of Ranchos de Taos, NM died 19 July 1914.

65- Samuel Brito Age 28 of Los Sauces, Colo. Died 11 July 1914 at 12:00 noon. He was born in Los Sauces 15 Nov 1886. Survived by father Gabriel Brito; Sister Mrs. Juan G. Roybal of Ignacio, Colo; Wife Bersabe M. de Brito and 4 daughters.

66- Jose Manuel Salazar of Taos, NM. Who was employed in Rock Springs, Wyo drowned in the Big Sandy River 28 Sept 1914. He was buried 30 July 1914 in Rock Spring, Wyo.

67- Pablo M. Lujan Age 13 of Ranchitos, NM. Died Monday morning (17 Aug 1914). Son of Tobias Lujan and Ciria M. de Lujan. Pablo Lujan was riding a horse from his house back to the field where they were trashing (harvesting). The horse seems to have spooked and threw him to the ground killing him. He was buried in the Ranchos de Taos, NM Cemetery.

68- Giuseppe Mel Choirre Sarto Age 80 Pope Pio X died wednesday 20 - 1914. He was elected as Pope of the Roman Catholic Church 4 Aug 1903. He served 11 years as Pope. He was born 2 June 1835.

69- It has been reported that during the last 4 weeks (Date of News Paper Edition Fri 4 Sept 1914) about 100 persons have died in Embudo, NM and surrounding communities of malaria fever. The victims have been the young and the aged. Monday of this week 17 people died in the neighborhood...NOTE I did not see any other mention of the maleria fever out break, nor did I see an increase in the number of obits or more people than normal reported dying because of malaria fever...

70- Antonio Jose Velarde Age 70 of Ojo Sarco, NM. Died 14 Aug 1914. Survived by wife Sensionita O. de Velarde; Son Daniel Velarde; Daughters Josefita Velarde and Adelaida wife of J. J. Romero; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

71- Leocadita Marquez Age 9 months of Arroyo Seco, NM. Died of Fever Pneumonia Aug 1914. Daughter of Gabriel Marquez and Bersabe M. de Marquez. Grandparents Jose M. Medina and Guilliermita de Medina.

72- Jose D. Brito Age 37 of Talpa, NM. Died 15 Aug 1914 at 4:00 AM. Survived by mother Magdalena A. de Brito; Brother Emilio Brito and sister Sencionita Brito. He suffered for 2 years with his illness.

73- Martin Vigil Age 59 of El Valle, NM. Died 1 Aug 1914 7:00 PM. He was a resident of Espanola Rio Arriba County, NM. He moved to El Valle Taos County, NM in 1895. He died of Scarlet Fever. He suffered for 9 days. Survived by wife Virginia F. de Vigil; 2 adopted sons and sisters Mrs. Ruperta V. Sisneros and Trinidad M. Vigil. He was buried in Las Trampas, NM Cemetery.

74- Luterio Martinez Age 26 of Clover, Colo. Died 7 Aug 1914. Survived by brother Gabriel Martinez and sister Clarita M. Cortez.

75- Juan C. Trujillo Age 6 months and 23 days died in Velarde, NM. 2 Sept 1914. Son of Felix Trujillo and Epimenia Q. Trujillo of Alamosa Colo.

76- Paulita Martinez Age 47 of Costilla, NM. Died 27 Aug 1914. Survived by husband Daniel de Herrera. She was married for the second time for only 1 month. Survived by husband, Mother,  2 sisters and 3 brothers. 1 of them named Jose Altagracia Martinez of Arroyo Hondo, NM.

77- Luciano Gallegos of Mora, NM. Died 16 July 1914.

78- Pedro Padilla of Las Vegas, NM. Former police officer was shot and killed by Jailer Amador Ulibarri Sept 1914. It was reported that Amador Ulibarri was with a group of men in front of the saloon "Buffalo." when Pedro Padilla went by on his horse. Ulibarri yelled at Padilla to stop that he was under arrest. They both pulled out their pistols and started shooting at each other. Pedro Padilla was killed by a shot to the heart with a 44 caliber bullet.  The witnesses testified that it was self defense. Ulibarri was not arrested and was unhurt.

79- Leandro Gonzales Age 26 of Wagon Mound, NM on 9 Sept 1914 shot and killed his wife,(name not listed) also  shot and severely wounded his father-in-law 75 year old Ramon Alderate, because of his grave injuries and his advanced age he is not expected to survive. Leandro Gonzales next turned the pistol on him self and he died of a self inflected gun shot to his chest. The shootings occurred inside Ramon Alderate's house.

80- Esequiel Romero Age 18 of San Miguel Del Valle, NM. Died 7 Sept 1914, as a result of an accidental Blow/punch to the chest by another student, Porfiro Gonzales. Both were students at the Menaul School in Albuquerque, NM. Survived by parents Narciso Romero and Demetria V. Romero, 7 brothers and 6 sisters.

81- Susanita Lujan Age 17 years and 5 months. Born 11 April 18_7 In Trinchera, Colo. She died at her parents home in Watervale, Colo 12 Sept 1914 at 8:00 AM. Survived by by parents Jose D. Lujan and Monica M. Lujan and 2 brothers. Buried in the Watervale Colo Cemetery. 13 Sept 1914.

82- Onesimo Silva Age 22 of San Cristoval, NM. Died 7 Sept 1914 at 5:00 PM. Survived by parents Celedon Silva and Gregorita Silva, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Names not listed.

83- Rafaelita C. Vigil Age 54 years, 6 months and 2 days of Cimarron, NM. Died 23 Sept 1914 at 7:30 PM. Born in La Cueva Mora County, NM 20 March 1856. She married Jose Genovevo Vigil in Rio de Las Animas (Segundo) Colo. He died Nov 1904.

84- Jose Ramon De La Luz Gonzales Age 75 of Llano, NM. Died 9 Sept 1914 at 6:00 AM. Survived by sons Salomon and Jose Rosendo. Daughters Maria Isidora and Soledad Gonzales; Sister Carmel Rafaelita Gonzales. Buried in the Llano de San Juan, NM Catholic Cemetery.

85- Abel Sanchez Age 1 an a half years of Arroyo Seco, NM. Died 18 Sept 1914. Son of Andres Sanchez and Eulalia F. de Sanchez.

86- Andres Romero Age 65 of Truchas, NM. Died 10 Sept 1914. Survived by wife Maria Encarnacion Sandoval de Romero and 2 sons Jose B. Romero and Maximiano Trujillo.

87- Fidel Gallegos of La Madera, NM. Died 5 Sept 1914. He was killed when the horse drawn wagon full of lumber he was driving overturned and crushed him to death.

88- Josefa Espinosa Age 31 of Taos, NM. Died last friday. No date of death listed. News papers edition dated 30 Oct 1914. Survived by Husband Tom Holder, 2 daughters and 3 sons all of a young age. Parents J. Sabibo Espinosa and Wife. Names not listed.

89- Refugio M. de Froelick Age 61 years, 3 months and 7 days of Elizabeth Town, NM. Died 15 Oct 1914. Survived by husband Herman Froelick, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Daughters Amelia de Harburger, Teresa Froelick, Eliza Kaiser, Laura Froelick and Jeanie Trujillo.

90- Felix Guara Age 37 of Taos, NM. Died in an Alamosa, Colo hospital monday morning. He died of appendicitis and other complictions. Survived by wife Mgdalena Guara; Son Eduardo Guara 12 years old and parents Bentura Guara and Donaciana S. de Guara, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
