6. Beyond Origins of New Mexico Families [BONMF], an Internet site hosted by José Antonio Esquibel.  This site has important information which confirms that Juana Baca was the daughter of
Cristóbal Baca and Ana Moreno de Lara and not the daughter of Manuel Baca and  María de Salazar.  Researchers: Margaret Buxton and José Antonio Esquibel.
7. Origins of New Mexico Families by Chávez.  The information about Juana Baca found on this page is incorrect with regard to the names of her parents.  Fray Chavez was mistaken when he identified Juana Baca, as the daughter of Manuel Baca and Maria de Salazar Hurtado. [1992, Chavez, ONMF, p. 144].  Margaret L. Buxton re-examined the Baca records.  She discovered that Juana Baca was the sister, and not the daughter of Manuel Baca, and thus was the daughter of Cristobal Baca and Ana Moreno de Lara Trujillo. [1991, Buxton, The Other Luna Family, p. 5 citing the El Ranchito Land Grant records.]  Refer to the marriage investigation (DM) between Joseph Antonio Baca and Juana Chaves which may have led to the mistake.  [DM no. 15, Albuq. Sept. 11, 1766 p. 159] [1991, Buxton, The Other Luna Family, p. 7].
