The Alma Cemetery is located on the top of a big flat top hill that lies to the east behind the Alma store. Years ago, it used to be called The Oaks Cemetery. Access to the cemetery is by going east on the Mineral Creek road. This dirt road is between the concrete bridge and Alma Store. Go until you come to a sign on the left that says “Alma cemetery”. Turn on this road and bear to the left, going up a narrow, rather steep road. From the cemetery, you can view the valley below and the beautiful mountains beyond. The earliest burial I found here is in 1884. There could be older ones that have no stones or markers. By other surveys that have been done, they show information by family sources as to people being buried in this cemetery, but there are no markers to say where. Unknown and unreadable graves for Alma Cemetery, First half number at least 27 graves. See Notes and inscriptions following this chart. See Unknown burials on net page.
