Helen Louise BLACKBURN SHOBE, 75 of Las Cruces, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at
Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. SHOBE is survived by her husband, Dabney, of the
family home; her children, Stephen R. SHOBE, of Dallas, TX. Pamela OVIATT, of
San Francisco, CA., James M. SHOBE, of Grand Junction, CO., and Patti Jane
SHOBE, of Seattle, WA, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. At her
request, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at a late date.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys STEVENS of Mesa, AZ. sister, Hope WILLS of

POLANCO, Benigna A., 91, lifelong resident of Las Cruces, died Sept 9, 2000 at
Memorial Medical Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1908 in Las Cruces to Ignacio
Angel and Cecilia SAUCEDO POLANCO. He was a homemaker. Survivors include her
four sons, Oswaldo and wife Virginia, Rodolfo and wife JoAnn, Rogelio and wife
Anna and Amado, Jr., daughter, Hermelinda SILVA and husband Celso all of Las
Cruces and nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband, Amado POLANCO, brother, Joe ANGEL and sister,
Elisa CASTILLO. Interment at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Getz Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are BENIGNA'S grandsons and granddaughters.

2000, at her home. She was born August 20, 1923 in Elmhurst, Illinois and had
been an area resident the past seven years. Wife of Robert C. LORY of the family

of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jeff LORY of Las Cruces and Jay LORY of Chandler,
AZ., dear sister of Wally PASCO of Plainfield, Illinois; End SHORT of
Albuquerque; Audrey DAVIS of Naples, FL., cherished grandmother of Dustie Ann
ZABIC, Kenneth Eugen MC GRAW, Shannon Marie DEITZ, Michelle Elizabeth DENNIS,
Jennifer Dawn HERNANDEZ, Christopher Michael, Jeremy Alan, Maria Francis and
Richard LORY, Adam and Karli WEST; great-grandmother of Brittany Ann and Amanda

3, 1919, to John and Ruth WILSON TAYLOR in Fayetteville, TN. Elizabeth graduated
from high school in Georgetown, TX. She also attended Southwestern University in
TX. She was also a real estate broker in Houston and surrounding areas. She is
survived by her adored husband of 58 years, Joe DODSON; sister, Nancy TAYLOR of
Houston, TX.; brother John and wife Carol TAYLOR of San Antonio, TX;
sister-in-law, Maida HOWELL and Harriet DODSON. Graham Mortuary, Las Cruces.

GEE, Raymond, Jr., 61, of Carlsbad died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000 at his home. He
was born Sept. 18, 1938 to Raymond Bevely GEE, Sr., and Lillian Margaret GANN in
Las Cruces. Former member of the Carpenters Local in Las Cruces. Survivors
include a son, Raymond GEE the 3rd, and wife Michelle of Carlsbad; daughter,
Lisa SANCHEZ and husband Chris of Las Cruces; and three grandchildren, Jeff and
David GEE and Gabriela SANCHEZ. Service at Latter Rain Harvest Fellowship, 401
N. Main.

WALTER, Frederic Bruno, 32, of Deming died Sept 10, 2000, at Thomason General
Hospital in El Paso, TX. Bright Funeral Home. Interment with full military
honors will be in Ft. Bayard National Cemetery. Her was born Oct. 20, 1967 in
Val D'or, Canada. Son of Fred Walter and Alberta GIRAULT WALTER. Survived by his
21-month old daughter, Savannah of Kansas; parents Fred and Alberta WALTER of
Houston, TX., three sister, Monika DALLA VISTA of Tucson, AZ., and Dominque GRAY
of Alamogordo and Claudine SHOUMAN of Las Cruces, one brother, Pascal WALTER of
Beamsville, Canada; two nieces, Courtney and Stephanie GRAY; one nephew, Justin
WALTER. He loved his beloved dogs Bud and Shelia. He served six years in the U.
S. Navy and was owner and operator of "On The Road Again Truck Repair" in
Deeming. Pallbearers were, Steve GRAY, Kamal SHOUMAN, Tony DALLA VISTA, Harold
LAROCHE, Sam ETHERIDGE and Jesse ETHERIDGE. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos
MYERS and Mario RIVER.
