Vanadium was a mining community on NM
180 and the AT&SF railroad. Founded in 1912, it is two
miles north of Bayard, New Mexico.
It was named for the
mineral deposits found there which are used as an alloy
with steel. This cemetery was visited by Al Winklejohn
in June 2007.
