Bonito City Cemetery Bonito City no longer exists. It and the old cemetery were covered in water after the Bonito Dam project was completed in the 1920's. The remains in the Bonito City Cemetery were moved to Angus Cemetery. Below are the known names who were in that cemetery. If you have additional information, dates or names, please contact me. Bonito City was a silver mining town located in Bonito Canyon. On May 5, 1885 Martin Nelson began killing people, including John Mayberry, Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Mayberry, Dr. Flynn, Pete Nelson and Herman Beck. Bonito City is sometimes spelled "Bonita City".
