In 1898 the people of the Corona community had to go to Pinos Wells or White Oaks for their mail. A stage coach carried mail from Las Vegas to white Oaks coming through the mountains west of Corona to Pinos Wells. Oftentimes a patron would board the hack at Corona with writing materials, ride the twenty miles northwest to Pinos Wells, call for their mail, answer it and then ride the stage back home. This route was known locally as the "Gringo Mail" and Rebecca Salas was Postmaster at Pinos Wells. It was their custom when a patron called for his mail to hand everything in the office out to him and let him find his own then give what was left back to her.

In 1902 the Corona Post Office was established in the front of a store owned by Franklin A. Dubios who was the First Postmaster. The city hall now stands on the site of the first post office. This office now serves some five hundred patrons and is the northernmost office in Lincoln County.

In September, 1962, Mary Fuller was appointed postmaster. In 1964, on September 20, the post office was moved into a beautiful new building about one block north of the old one. The move was accomplished very smoothly. The boxes were loaded on a pickup and moved with the mail still in them. Frances Fuller carried the cash drawer with money orders in her arms down the street and the office was back in business within 15 minutes.

Frances Fuller is the third member of her family to serve in the Corona post office. Her brother, Fenner Jones was a clerk for about a year, he resigned to enter the Naval Air Corps. her mother Betty E. Jones, became postmaster in 1943 and served until her retirement in April of 1955. Frances started as an extra clerk in may 1957 and continued in that position until April 14, 1961, when she was appointed Acting Postmaster.
