81- Jim Terry, 71, of Taos, NM. Died 4 July 1995 in Eagle Nest, NM. he was riding his 3 year old foxtrotter stallion Rocky, down main street in the 4th of July Eagle Nest Parade. The horse reared up and fell backward on top of Jim Terry. Terry struck his head on the pavement and his chest was crushed by the horse. The horse, Rocky was not injured. Jim Terry had lived in Taos, NM 13 years since retiring from his carpet business in Houston, Tx. Preceded in death by his wife, Marge in 1993. Survived by his sons Dwayne and Doug Terry. 13 July 1995 A-6.

82- Adonario A. Bustos, 63, of Taos, NM, formerly of Arroyo Seco, NM. Passed away at Holy Cross Hospital 4 July 1995. He is survived by his wife Fannie M. 83- Eleanor Cordova, 85, of Arroyo Seco, NM. Passed away at her home 25 June 1995. Survived by her husband Jose; Son Lucas (Gloria) Cordova; Daughters Ramona (Fred) Maestas, Genoveva (Manuel) Medina, Adonelia (Harry) Miera and Bertha (Jose) Rendon. 13 July 1995 B-6.

84- Francis (Frank) Jesse Maestas, 29, died 4 July 1995 at University Hospital in Albuq, NM. He was a 1983 graduate of Taos High School and a 1988 graduate of the University of New Mexico. Survived by parents Francis Maestas and Helen Hazel Maestas of Taos, NM; Brothers Daniel Edward Maestas, and John Phillip Maestas both of Taos, NM; Niece Ashley Serafina Maestas; Nephew Daniel Edward Maestas Jr. Interment at El Camposanto de Las Cruces Taos, NM. 13 July 1995 B-6.

85- Jose Belarmino Romero, 90, a life long resident of El Valle, NM. Died thursday 6 July 1995 at Hacienda de Salud. Preceded in death by his wife Feloniz Romero 2 Sept 1984. Survived by brother George Romero Sr. and wife Oralia of El Valle, NM; Nephews Atanacio E. Romero and Wife Flora of Silver City, NM, Felix Romero and wife Kathy of Las Vegas, Nv, George Romero Jr. and wife Debbie of El Valle, NM; Niece Juanita Lopez and husband Gene of Rodarte, NM. 86- Luis Ernesto Martinez, 79, of Taos, NM. Passed away 5 July 1995 at his residence. Preceded in death by son Floyd Martinez and grandson Lloyd Martinez. 89- Frances Struck of Glendale, Ca. Passed away 26 June 1995. She was born in Ranchos de Taos, NM 17 Jan 1931 to Raquel Trujillo and Wallace Struck. She moved to Los Alamos in 1948 attended school there and graduated in 1950. She than attended Business Collage in Santa Fe, NM. Moved to California in 1952, There she worked for Bank of America 20 years in the trust operation dept. She also worked 13 years for the First Interstate Bank of California. She retired 31 Aug 1994. 91- James Allen Hackman, 50 Died at home in Taos, NM 25 July 1995. Formerly of Delmar, New York. Mr. Hackman retired to Taos, NM in 1993 after 26 years of public service for the states of Arizona and New York. 94- Bernardine Wood, Born 15 June 1924 in Tyler, Tx died after a long illness on 24 July 1995. A long time resident of Taos, NM. She was known both as a painter and sculptor. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Texas. Studied painting with Everett Spruce, Edgar Taylor, William Lester and Jayson Smith. 95- Felimon Cisneros, 26 ,of Cerro, NM. Passed Away as a result of a motor vehicle accident 9 Aug 1995. 96- Jose Miguel Vigil, 69, of Talpa NM. Passed away 11 Aug 1995. He was a Navy veteran serving with the C.B's during world war 2. He retired from the Army depot in Toole, Ut. 103- Robert Quayle Kennaugh, an Anglican Catholic Archibshop. Passed away 13 Aug 1995 at the age of 78. His first assignment was as Curate of Calvary Church in Memphis, Tn. He was appointed Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Corsicana, Tx St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Gladwyne, Pa. St. John's Church in Los Angles, Ca. He worked with the National Office of the Episcopal Church in Christian education. He was instrumental in the founding of the Canterbury house at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. He was born in Colo Springs, Co 9 July 1917. He had a home in Taos, NM for 35 years. Survived by his wife Betty W. 113- Paulette D. Vallier, 52, of Taos, NM died 19 Sept 1995 at Holy Cross Hospital Taos, NM, She was an Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor. She was born in Portland, Maine, raised in Massachusetts and Arizona before moving with her family to Taos, NM in 1951. Her parents managed the Sagebrush Inn. Survived by her partner of 10 years A. 114- Louis Moya, 51, of Taos, NM was killed in a pedestrian/automobile collision which occurred about 8:30 PM maonday 25 Sept 1995. He was killed while crossing state road 68 in Ranchos de Taos, NM. As of press time obit and/or funeral service have not been announced. 28 Sept 1995 A-11.

115- Anita T. Casias, 62 of Ranchos de Taos, NM died thursday at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, NM. 119- Amelia Guara Rivera, 88, of Taos Passed away at her residence 25 Sept 1995. Preceded in death by a son Martin Rivera, Jr. and a grandson Lawrence Chavez. Survived by children Richard Chavez, Margie Guara, Connie Chavez, Naomi "Peewee" Rivera, Rita Mondragon, Stephanie Rivera and Matilda Rivera all of Taos. 120- Carmen C. Fresquez passed away Saturday 30 Sept 1995 after a long illness and 2 days after her birthday. She taught in the Penasco Elementary School until her retirement in 1984. She and her husband lived in Colorado and Arizona in the 1950's other than that she was a life-long resident of Penasco. Preceded in death by her parents Gregorio and Emilia Chacon, infant daughter Barbara and husband Macario. 126- Donald L. Wiley, 75, Passed away 15 Oct 1995 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was a resident of Taos since 1948 and a long time employee of Mountain Bell, installing the majority of the original telephones in Taos and surrounding counties. He was an avid outdoorsman and was well known for his hunting and fishing skills. A veteran of the Marine Corps. he served as a "China Marine" and later throughout the South Pacific during World War II. 143- Mary Hamlin Goodwin, 84, a resident of Santa Fe, NM. Passed away wedenesday 29 Nov 1995. Mrs. Goodwin was born in Buffalo, New York 18 Feb 1995 to Chauncy and Emily Gray Hamlin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Vissert Hooft in 1993. She came to Taos, NM in the 1930's where she became one of the Taos Art Colony. From her early design as a builder and remodeler of her home in Talpa, New Mexico, she went on to create in her later years a style of house design and garden landscapes that stood out as her personal hallmark of purity and beauty.
