As Published in 1869 in the Quartermaster General's
Office, a listing of deceased Union soldiers buried in National Cemeteries.
Fifteen forts/camps/posts existed in the New Mexico Territory. Most had cemeteries with
Union Soldiers buried therein.
Apache Canon;
26 March 1862
Pigeon's Ranch; 28 March 1862
This burial ground resulted from the Battle of Glorieta Pass between the CSA and
Union military units.
Thirty five Confederate soldiers were buried in a mass grave near here.
The remains were moved to the Santa Fe National Cemetery ca. 2006.
