As Published in 1869 in the Quartermaster General's
Office, a listing of deceased Union soldiers buried in National Cemeteries.
Fifteen forts existed in the New Mexico Territory. Most had cemeteries with
Union Soldiers buried therein.
USCT means United Stated Colored Troops.
Fort Craig
The Battle of Valverde (2/21/1862) occurred near Fort Craig. Many of those
soldiers killed were buried here.
