Valencia County was created 9 January 1852. The county seat is Los Lunas. It was named for an early town built by Francisco de Valencia. Valencia County is a booming area of New Mexico. Its central location to the major populated counties has resulted in migration to its attractive living areas. Real estate sales are a major part of the economy.
